Administrator Guide
This guide describes how to install Rational® Integration Tester. After you install the software, you can perform administration tasks such as configuration and integration of the product. This guide is intended for administrators.
Integrations
Rational® Integration Tester supports integration with various other tools for quality management, change management, software configuration management, and deployment automation tools such as UrbanCode™ Deploy.
Rational Integration Tester and UrbanCode Deploy
When you use UrbanCode™ Deploy (UCD) for automating application deployments of your application, you can run tests created for your application that are created in Rational® Integration Tester. You can run the tests from UCD by using the UCD plugin for Rational Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational Test Virtualization Server
Installing the UCD plugin
You must install the latest version of the UCD plugin for Rational® Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational Test Virtualization Server on the UrbanCode™ Deploy server to integrate IBM® Rational Test Automation Server or Rational Test Virtualization Server with UrbanCode Deploy, and then run tests on the UrbanCode Deploy server.

      When you use Azure DevOps for continuous integration and continuous deployment of your application, you can create tests for your application in Rational® Integration Tester and run those tests in Azure DevOps pipelines. You can integrate Azure DevOps with Rational Integration Tester by using the IBM Rational Test Workbench extension that is available in the Visual Studio Marketplace portal.
    - Rational® Integration Tester and change management tools
      Rational® Integration Tester can be integrated with the OSLC-compliant Change Management Integration Providers such as Rational Team Concert™. It can also be integrated with Team Foundation Server Change Management Integration Providers (such as Microsoft™ Team Foundation Server), and Atlassian Jira. After integration, defects and projects can be tracked directly through Rational Team Concert.
    - Rational® Integration Tester and Git
      The Git integration feature provides a flexible test asset management method to track, back up, and collaborate on a project with multiple users. Collaborators in Git can import projects and test assets from shared repositories into IBM® Rational® Integration Tester and contribute their own assets and changes to the project so that everyone has access to the changes.

As a tester, you can pull this information into Rational Integration Tester by using a WSDL or WADL add operation and populate the Architecture School quickly and accurately. Rational Integration Tester parses the added documents in a way that you can directly use them in your testing.

      When you use Jenkins for the continuous integration (CI) of your application, you can run tests for testing your application. You can run tests created in Rational® Integration Tester for your application in Jenkins by using the Integration Tester Jenkins Plugin.

      When you use UrbanCode™ Deploy (UCD) for automating application deployments of your application, you can run tests created for your application that are created in Rational® Integration Tester.         You must install the latest version of the UCD plugin for Rational® Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational Test Virtualization Server on the UrbanCode™ Deploy server to integrate IBM® Rational Test Automation Server or Rational Test Virtualization Server with UrbanCode Deploy, and then run tests on the UrbanCode Deploy server.
      - Running tests on the UCD server
        After you install the UCD plugin for Rational® Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational Test Virtualization Server on the UrbanCode™ Deploy (UCD) server, you can create a process request that contains the test for your application, and then run the test on the UCD server.
    - Rational® Test Virtualization Server with Engineering Test Management
      You can implement Rational® Test Virtualization Server in Engineering Test Management integrated with Rational Test Virtualization Server by using Rational Test Control Panel.
    - Rational® Test Virtualization Server with Rational® Quality Manager
      You can implement Rational® Test Virtualization Server in Rational Quality Manager integrated with Rational Test Virtualization Server by using Rational Test Control Panel.

Installing the UCD plugin for Rational® Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational® Test Virtualization Server

You must install the latest version of the UCD plugin for Rational® Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational® Test Virtualization Server on the UrbanCode™ Deploy server to integrate IBM® Rational® Test Automation Server or Rational® Test Virtualization Server with UrbanCode™ Deploy, and then run tests on the UrbanCode™ Deploy server.

Before you begin

You must have downloaded the latest version of the UCD plugin for Rational® Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational® Test Virtualization Server.

Procedure

Open the UrbanCode™ Deploy dashboard.
Click Settings.
Click Automation Plugins from the Automation pane.
Click Load Plugin.
Click Choose File to locate and Open the compressed UCD plugin for Rational® Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational® Test Virtualization Server file.

Note: Do not extract the compressed file contents.
Click Submit.

The UCD plugin for Rational® Integration Tester or the UCD plugin for Rational® Test Virtualization Server is displayed in the Automation Plugins tab.
