Using product activation kit to set up licenses
You can use the product activation kit to set up permanent and authorized licenses for your installed products. If you installed products that are available with a trial license, you must purchase authorized licenses for continual usage of the products. The product activation kit provides the capability to set up the permanent licenses for the purchased products before or after the expiry of the trial license.
Before you begin
- Installed the product with a trial license on your computer.
- Purchased licenses to use the product.
- Downloaded the product activation kit from Rational License Key Center.
- Obtained the purchased licenses from Rational License Key Center.
About this task
You can use the Manage Licenses wizard in Installation Manager to install the product activation kit and set up the purchased licenses on the computer on which you installed the product with a trial license.
You can also use this option to change your license usage at any time. For example, if you installed floating licenses, you can change the license usage to authorized license usage.
You can back up the product activation jar file to reuse the same licenses when you reinstall the product after uninstalling it.
Procedure

Open Installation
Manager, if it is not
already open.
The main page of Installation Manager is displayed.

Click Manage Licenses.
The products that you installed by using Installation Manager are listed.
- Select the product for which you want to enable the licenses.
- Select the Import product Activation Kit option, and then click Next.
- Select the product to import the activation kit for and select the Import product Activation Kit radio button. Click Next.
- Browse to select the .jar file that is in the product activation kit, and then click Next.
- Accept the terms of the license agreement, and then click Next.
- Click Finish to import the license.
